The autism education trust says these are 'Six essential tools for teachers supporting autistic children and young people through homeschooling and return to school'. Additional resources can also be found on the autism education trust's COVID-19 Information Centre.

DfE Guidance for schools and other educational settings

This guidance is to help schools and other educational settings provide advice for staff, parents and carers, pupils, and students about coronavirus (COVID-19). It includes information about:

  • educational provision for vulnerable children and children of key workers

  • the closure and reopening of educational settings

  • free school meals arrangements

  • the cancellation of GCSEs, AS and A levels

  • travel guidance for educational settings

  • social distancing in education and childcare settings

  • financial support for schools

DfE Guidance for schools on Free School Meals 

Schools that are open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children should provide meal options for staff and children who are in school, and free school meals for all eligible pupils in attendance. This guidance explains what schools should do to make sure eligible pupils have continued access to free school meals where the pupil is not attending school, including over the Easter holidays.

This guidance is applicable to 31 May 2020 and will be reviewed before 1 June 2020..
