About Hamilton Road Children's Centre
Hamilton Road Children's Centre provides services and support for families with children under 5 years of age. We are a small friendly team and provide a warm and welcoming environment to all. R
Meet the team
Jane Thomas- Children's Centre coordinator
Jane joined the team in September 2015 and brings a wealth of family support and Early Year’s experience with her. She has trained to deliver Parents as First Teachers and Holding Hands.
Kate Bradley- Family Support and Nursery Link Worker
Kate has been working for Children's Centre since 2007 and has a wealth of experience in SEN and the Early Years. Kate is trained in Holding Hands and delivers "Little Talkers" a speech and language session aimed at developing children's early communication skills. Kate works closely with Mapledean Nursery and other nurseries in the area to provide support for children moving into nursery and school.
Mel Patterson- Family Support Worker
Mel has been working in children's centres as Business Support for since 2007 so has a wealth of knowledge about what is on offer and the support that can be provided to families and in 2015 became a Family Support worker and has trained to deliver the Holding Hands programme and Parents as First teachers also Freedom( domestic abuse) and "Little Talkers" a speech and language session aimed at developing children's early communication skills.
Rachel Whiting- Family Support Worker
Rachel joined the team in July 2015 and has experience in Early Years and education. She is trained to deliver Baby Massage courses, the Holding Hands Programme, parents as First Teachers and Freedom Programme (Domestic Abuse)
Asha Bibi – Support Worker
Asha joined the team in July 2018, she has a background in early years and delivers the universal sessions at the centre.
Our team are able to support you in a number of different areas such as behaviour management (through the Holding Hands Programme), education, finances and developing your social networks. If you feel you would like some support or advice please get in touch and we will do all we can to help. If we are unable to provide the support you need we are able to signpost you to other agencies who can.

Hamilton Road Children’s Centre is managed by Mapledean Nursery and Children's Centre.
We are an inclusive setting. Activities are planned to meet the needs of all children and adults.
SALT drop-ins are held regularly during universal sessions. Targeted groups to support language development are held.
Regular Health Visitor Drop-ins are available for families and the Health Visiting team regularly deliver one-off workshops on identified areas such as sleep, weaning and potty training.
We are also able to offer support for parents to gain a better understanding of their child’s learning and development.
We also have 3 PaFT ( Parents as First teachers) workers.
