Sling and Nappy Library (Thame)
Sling and Nappy Library covering Buckinghamshire by Jenni Bean Sling consultancy CIC.
Our Sling and Nappy Libraries are a friendly social meet as well as a lending service that is run by Jenni Bean Sling consultancy CIC. We have three experienced and qualified consultants (Jodie, Katy, Laura, Justine, and Kerrie) who along with our volunteer team are on hand to assist you.
To help you reduce your household waste we also offer Information on cloth nappies and reusable menstrual products such as cloth pads and menstrual cups. We have a Menstrual health educator (Justine from EcoDreams) available to offer confidential advice at our main meet. We operate our library in the following locations across Buckinghamshire Wycombe Micklefield (main meet), Holmer Green, Marlow, Thame and Stokenchurch (weekend meet).
Should you wish to attend please register an account with us online prior to attending Register Now then check your preferred location to see when our next library meet is running in your area. How does it work? At the meets, all the carriers are displayed on the table or rails for you to look at, try out and discuss the pros and cons of as you wish. If you want to hire a carrier, please register an account with us before attending. Register here you have two membership options to choose from. once your details have been confirmed and payment is taken. Please bring cash, card payments are also excepted. Then the carrier is yours to take with you for a fixed hire period. At the end of the hire you return your carrier to us at the next meet or if you become a premium member you can use our 24/7 drop box.
New to carrying? Need more support? Our meets can get very busy therefore it isn't always possible to give 1-2-1 advice and support though we try our best. If you require that extra bit of support you can book a one to one with one of our consultants for more information.
When are the meets?
Full updates including meet dates, times and locations can be found on our Facebook pages Jenni Bean Consultancy CIC, Wycombe Micklefield (main meet), Marlow, Thame, Holmer Green and Stokenchurch (weekend).
Can I hire a carrier outside of the Meets? Yes for our premium members we have a 24/7 drop box available (demonstrations will not be possible). Alternatively, family consultations are available, which can be organised for a date and time that fits your family.
Will I get 1-2-1 attention at the meets? Unfortunately, the meets are busy and it is not always possible to give 1-2-1 attention to everyone but we try our best. If you would prefer a service specifically tailored to your individual requirements, a consultation would be able to offer this. These can be booked via email and arranged for a time that suits you and your family.
Can you collect the carrier from me instead of me returning it at the next meet? No. Unfortunately, individual collections would be difficult to manage because the service is run by volunteers who have other work and family commitments outside of the monthly meets.
Can you teach me to? During the Library session, it can be challenging to focus on teaching because the sessions are very informal and interactive, however, we do offer Sling Workshops (see Events), as well as family consultations (as previously mentioned) information for these can be found on our website.
Can I get involved? Yes! We are always looking for new volunteers to help in any way. Please speak to one of the volunteers at the monthly meets or send us a private message or email detailing any relevant knowledge or skills (not required just useful to know!) and, of course, your availability.

- You Said We Did
Jodie is such a passionate lady and it really comes through in the way she teaches. Fantastic course today where I learnt so much in such a short space of time, she is incredibly knowledgeable, highly recommend her courses. Jenny (and Matilda)
The lovely Jodie will have you buzzing about baby wearing after your visit! Her passion and enthusiasm are her biggest strengths, and her knowledge and know-how make her an essential part of your baby wearing journey
Jodie has such a bubbly and enthusiastic personality that shines through in everything she does! Her passion for baby carrying is contagious and I would definitely recommend a consultation with her to anyone wishing to find out more about slings and baby-carriers. There's a before and an after meeting her! Thank you!
Jodie has been advising me on wearing my 9-week-old son I had carried my older boy but wanted to build on my knowledge and move on to woven wraps from the caboo I am using.
Jodie was lovely extremely approachable and welcoming she went over all the safety aspects of wearing and the options that would be best for us. She really put me at ease and helped me be confident that I am carrying him correctly I will be going back to get more advice as he grows. I would definitely recommend friends to contact her
Jodie immediately put me at ease, I was drawn to a ring sling in particular; Jodie made sure to show me different slings suitable for my needs and then come back to the ring sling which affirmed to me I had made the right choice.
I thoroughly enjoyed my consultation. It felt tailored to me and Jodie was great at listening to what I wanted. I now have the ability and confidence to sling outside of home
I had decided what sling I would like to try and felt confident using it, including putting my own baby in it. Jodie didn't put any pressure on me to buy the sling I wanted directly from her even though she sold them and had them available to buy that day. As it is, I've since contacted her about buying my sling through her.
Jodie was also great at organising the session around my babies needs, for example. when he needed feeding she demonstrated other wraps to me and when my son slept she organised the hands on aspect of trying on the slings.
