Roundwood Primary School

We are a small, friendly school at the heart of our local village communities. Working together we provide a nurturing, safe and successful environment where children are encouraged to become independent learners ready for what the future holds. Our school is situated just outside Buckingham with our infant site  based in Tingewick and our junior site based at Gawcott.

We believe that our school offers a happy, nurturing environment where all our children can flourish. By offering a varied curriculum where we give children the confidence to succeed, we equip them with skills to become lifelong learners, whatever their interests. We pride ourselves on getting to know the children and their families well so that we can work together in the best interests of each and every child.

Roundwood school has a split site. KS1 is in Tingewick village, in a Victorian Listed building in a conservation area, and KS2 is in the village of Gawcott. These villages are 2 miles apart. Gawcott is accessible for wheelchair users, however Tingewick, due to its listed building status, has only one wheelchair accessible classroom.

Description

Roundwood Primary School aims to provide the best possible education for every child. We do this by providing good teaching matched to the needs of each child. Sometimes children have a difficulty or disability that means they need extra help with learning; this is called a special educational need (SEND). This information report tells you about our provision for children with SEN and disability (SEND).

Roundwood School provides for children with a wide range of special educational needs including those with:

  • Communication and interaction needs; this includes children who have speech, language and communication difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions.

  • Cognition and Learning needs; this includes children who have learning difficulties and specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

  • Sensory and/or Physical needs; this includes children who have visual or hearing needs, or a physical disability that affects their learning.
