Beginners Watercolours Part 1 (3 week course)

This course will give you an introduction to watercolours. It is suitable for beginners, those returning to using watercolours, or those wanting to try out different techniques. You will learn some of the basic techniques such as blending, washes, and wet on wet to paint a range of subjects.

What to bring;

  • Selection of watercolour paints (either pans or tubes)
  • Selection of brushes (such as Daler Rowney size 8 and 2 round, and at least one flat brush 1/2 inch - 1 inch, and a fan brush)
  • Watercolour paper
  • Water pot (old tall plastic tubs work well for this such as soup tubs!)
  • Masking tape
  • Masking fluid (needle tip or bring a brush to use with this),
  • Paper towels
  • Mixing palette
  • Small painting sponge
  • Pencil
  • Rubber
  • Ruler
