Newtown School

Newtown School is a popular Early Years school catering for children from 2 years old through to 7 years old. It also has an attached Family Centre Plus serving all parents in the local area with children up to 19 years old, or up to 25 with SEND.

Newtown manages its own admissions for the Pre-school class for children aged 2 or 3 years old. Priority is given to children within the school catchment area. The Pre-school offers 5 morning sessions from 8.45am to 11.45am for children with birthdays between September and the end of February or 5 afternoon sessions for children with birthdays from March to the end of August. Places are offered to funded two and three-year-old children first and it there are spaces remaining then paid places are offered for children not yet eligible for funding. Places are offered termly.

Newtown also manages admissions for the Nursery class, for children who are rising 4 years old. Again priority is given to children within the catchment area. Children with a fourth birthday between September and the end of February start in September for 5 morning sessions. Children with a birthday from March to the end of August start in January for 5-afternoon sessions.

Bucks CC deals with admissions into the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes and attendance at the Pre-school or Nursery is no guarantee of a place within the school.

Description

Newtown is an inclusive school, which benefits from its social and cultural diversity. The school has always prided itself on the quality of care our children show, give and receive. We promote this quality through our school motto which is, At Newtown we care about our learning, each other and our world.

We aim to create conditions in which our children can reach their full potential physically, emotionally, spiritually, behaviourally and academically. We encourage children to feel valued and to learn to respect others. Newtown is constantly working to further develop the partnerships between parents, governors and outside agencies to contribute to the education of our pupils.
