Nurture by YogaBellies was created to support mothers immediately postnatally, which is traditionally a time when we were supported by ‘the village:’ a community of women around us, such as grans, aunts, friends and neighbours. In today’s society, women tend to be left home alone with the baby while their partner goes out to work. Without this community and support, we are suffering. More and more women have postnatal depression and suffer feelings of guilt, self-loathing and disappointment that they cannot fulfil their role like other mothers. The myth that women are supposed to raise a baby single-handed is one we wish to dispel.
Nurture by YogaBellies, offers the post-partum support and care that modern women do not receive. Embracing traditional postpartum self-care practices, we have created ‘a village’ for our mothers. A unique blend of massage, care and recuperation for mother and baby, nurture is not a yoga class.
The classes comprise self- massage and relaxation techniques for mum as well as bonding through YogaBellies loving touch baby massage with your child. Our YogaBellies Sleep sessions offer the deepest relaxation, using self-hypnosis to induce a short but restorative rest for mum and baby. We also spend time in our group, bonding and supporting each other as new mothers and discussing self-care and practices that you can take home with you and make use of in everyday life during our Tranquilitea sessions.
You can start immediately postpartum as this is not a yoga class! Come along as soon as you are ready to join our YogaBellies village, meet other mums, talk, share and feel supported through gentle movement, therapies and touch. You can bring baby along or take this time for yourself. You don’t need to be immediately postpartum, this class is open to all mothers – the highest rate of postnatal depression is at 4 years post-partum so we don’t discriminate on the age of your child. All mothers are welcome because we’re always going to need that village and that time for ourselves.

I know it is a very anxious time at the moment and I am only sorry that you are having to cope with this at the start of motherhood. In light of the latest government guidelines, my classes are no longer taking place in their normal venues, but moving to live-streamed classes.
My online postnatal classes run on:
- YogaBellies for Mummy: Thursday nights 9 pm to 10 pm (additional class for postnatal Mummies ONLY whilst classes remain online)
- YogaBellies for Mum and Baby: Saturday morning at 10:30 am to 11:30 am (formerly Wednesday 10.30-11.30, Wendover Memorial Hall)
- Nurture by YogaBellies: Sunday morning at 10 am to 11 am (formerly Thursday 10:45 am to 12 midday, Wendover Library).
Whilst classes remain online you can attend all three postnatal classes LIVE and have access to all three recordings per week when traditionally you would choose between the classes or pay for all separately. You can choose to attend only one live class a week of course or just listen to the recordings but you won't be able to interact with the other attendees.

The classes are rolling blocks of six and are booked in weekly blocks in advance. The cost of the block is £69, and you can do as many blocks as you wish. At the time of booking, you are required to pay a deposit of £16 via PayPal or credit/debit card. The remaining £53 respectively is payable via bank transfer within one month of booking.
