Sexual Health Buckinghamshire

Sexual health services in Buckinghamshire are provided by a number of different organisations. There are clinics at Wycombe Hospital (the SHAW clinic) and at Brookside in Aylesbury, both run by Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. In addition there are a range of community clinics offering both contraception and STI testing, run by the Terrence Higgins Trust.

GP surgeries provide a range of basic sexual health services including long-acting reversible contraception (LARC methods include implants and IUD/IUS’s) and Chlamydia screening and some community pharmacies offer free emergency hormonal contraception to under 19s and free opportunistic Chlamydia screening to 15 to 24-year-olds.

Chlamydia screening and the Emergency Hormonal Contraceptive pill (EHC)

Young people under 25 years can order free and confidential postal chlamydia kits and can get free condoms at a list of registered outreach sites as part of the C-card Condom scheme.

Remember, chlamydia screening and the Emergency Hormonal Contraceptive pill (EHC) are also available at pharmacies across Bucks – the service finder tool has details of these too.
