Kingfishers Pre-School

Coronavirus status: OPEN

Kingfishers is part of the three schools family – Drayton Parslow Village School, Mursley CE School and Swanbourne CE School, managed by headteachers Ms Carol-Anne McCollum and Mr May. We are well resourced and work closely together. The Foundation Stage teachers are in constant communication with Kingfishers to ensure a smooth transition to school and ensure that there is a consistency in approaches to learning and the children attend 'school' for an afternoon each week during the summer term before they start school.

Local Offer

The school’s approach to teaching: We promote inclusion to include children/young people with SEND both inside the classroom and during extracurricular activities and trips. Risk assessments are carried out and procedures are put in place to enable all students to participate. However, if it is deemed that an intensive level of support is required or that the trip runs into unsociable hours. Teaching staff are given training (linked to outside agencies) on strategies to use in the classroom with students who have specific needs.
