Buckinghamshire Priority Dental Service
Buckinghamshire Priority Dental Service offers special care dentistry for people in Milton Keynes and the Hertfordshire and South Midlands and Thames Valley catchment areas who are unable to access a general dental practitioner and need specialist dental treatment.
The Service is for:
- Adults and children with learning disabilities
- Adults and children with complex medical problems
- Adults and children with severe mental health problems
- Children with severe behavioural management problems
- Adults with very severe anxiety and dental phobias
Buckinghamshire Priority Dental Service (BPDS) clinics are accessible to disabled patients. However, patients needing a ground floor surgery should first try to obtain care with a general dental practitioner (GDP) and only be referred to BPDS if there is no ground floor access within a reasonable distance. Some clinics also have hoists for those who need help transferring to the dental chair.
