Community Nutrition Team NHS (Buckinghamshire)

We aim to provide training, support and advice to early years providers and professionals supporting nutrition in communities across Buckinghamshire.

Our FREE 'Eat Better, Start Better' course has introduced a popular training resource for professionals in Buckinghamshire working to comply with voluntary standards for food and drink provision in Early Years. It includes evidence-based information in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework following guidelines on promoting environments to encourage healthy eating.

We liaise with our colleagues across disciplines of paediatric dietetics, school nursing, health visiting, education and health services linked to early years to improve the health and wellbeing of families. This is to ensure a comprehensive and up-to-date evidence-based approach is taken and consistent messages can be shared across OFSTED registered early years settings and the wider community.
