Bucksinspired | Traineeships
Traineeship course supporting young people with gaining the skills to get into an apprenticeship, work or college. Focussed on supporting young people (aged 16 to 24 years) who are currently not in employment, education or training. English and Maths support from Buckinghamshire Adult Learning (if you do not already have A* to C / 4 to 9 grade GCSE) and an optional opportunity to do a work experience placement with a local employer.
You will receive:
- Level 1 Certificate in Employment Skills
- English and Maths skills support to work towards a Level 2
- Careers advice and guidance
- Individual support from a youth worker.
- Work experience with a local employer in chosen industry
Starting in April 2021
The course will consist of employment skills workshops and a work experience placement. You will receive youth work support throughout the programme and gain careers advice and guidance in both group and one to one sessions to support you with your options and your next steps. If you need to develop your maths or English skills up to Level 2 then Bucks Adult Learning will support you to begin your journey towards achieving this. The course will run three days a week.

Will I get paid?
This Traineeship course is unwaged.
Can I still claim my current benefits?
Yes, you can participate in our traineeship for up to 30 hours per week and still claim the benefits that you currently claim.
How does it work?
This course may initially be run virtually through Google Meet, but we hope to move the sessions into a classroom as soon as possible. Virtual group sessions are delivered three days a week and individual tasks and assignments are placed on a Google Classroom for you to complete. You will be involved in small group sessions and one to one sessions. We are here to help and support throughout the course. The focus is on learning useful and practical skills that you can use to help you access work, education or training. You will be required to complete a work experience placement.
