BFIS = (The) Buckinghamshire Family Information Service.
BCC / The Council = Buckinghamshire County Council.
SEND = Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The Buckinghamshire Family Information Service (BFIS) provides information for families, young people and professionals. BFIS serves families with children aged 0 to 19 years, or up to 25 years of age with SEND. We are the "go to" place for Ofsted-registered childcare, childcare information, local services and things to do.
Our advice and guidance covers areas relating to family life including education, health and money. This information is supplemented by the thousands of directory records held. Our website allows you to search for the information you're looking for, find the services and support you need, and browse things to do locally. Our "favourites" feature lets you compile shortlists to share and print. This feature is also useful for professionals supporting their clients.
Accuracy and Impartiality
BFIS makes every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of information held. Despite this, we cannot accept responsibility for any loss which might arise from reliance on the information contained on this site, or any damage caused by downloading information from this website. Organisations and services are responsible for keeping their records up-to-date. BFIS is an impartial service and cannot recommend or endorse any service.

Things to consider and check
We strongly advise that before using any of the services or activities listed you check:
Are the services accredited or registered with any relevant professional body?
Do they have any published service standards?
Is there an easily accessible complaints procedure?
If you have to pay, what does it cost and what does this cover?
What checks are done on staff and volunteers? For example, references, Disclosure and Barring Service Checks, or Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme.
Can you speak with someone who has already used the service?
Are the premises accessible?
If the service requires you to sign a contract; check that the contract includes what you and the service expect from each other. Before you sign the contract ensure you understand everything - if in doubt contact Citizens Advice.
It is advisable to call any of the clubs or activities listed before attending to ensure the dates and times have not changed.

BFIS and BCC reserve the right to refuse or delete publication of any organisation, service or information which it knows or believes:

In the event of complaints or concerns about a provider, the account may be suspended or terminated and the record archived, pending the outcome of an investigation. In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, any loss or damages arising from use or loss of use of data or profits arising out of or in connection with the use of the BFIS website.
