Identification of Special Educational Needs

Professionals can review your child or young person’s progress and will identify when they have s Special Educational Needs. The SEND Code of Practice: 0 – 25 years provides some information about how this is done:

Progress check at age 2: Paragraphs 5.23 – 5.25

Identifying needs for 3 and 4 year olds:  Paragraphs 5.26 – 5.35

Identifying SEN in schools: Paragraphs 6.14 – 6.35

Identifying SEN in post-16 education: Paragraphs 7.10 – 7.12
