Youth Voice: Special Educational Needs and Disability
This page is all about the Youth Voice SEND Group.
What is the Youth Voice: Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)?
This Youth Voice focus group also goes by the name of The SEND Youth Forum.
The Forum represents young people of Buckinghamshire with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). In this Forum you will work on current issues that SEND young people face in Buckinghamshire. You will create a programme of work to improve services and support SEND young people.
The SEND Youth Forum has a discussion meeting and an activity meeting. Both meetings will work on the same programme of work but will use different methods to get your voices heard.
The SEND Youth Forum works with…
SEND and Mainstream schools, youth groups, colleges and communities to ensure that issues that are coming up for SEND young people at a local level are heard and recognised by Buckinghamshire Council Senior Leaders. The SEND Youth Forum is young person led, with the work programmes and meeting agendas set and delivered by young people with the support of the Family Support Service.
You can join
If you are aged between 12 and 25, with a special educational need or disability, then we want to hear your voice. The SEND Forum meets each month and we have two groups to choose from depending on your interests.
We need young people who have strong views, are passionate about positive change and enthusiastic about making a positive difference to the lives of young people with SEND in Buckinghamshire.
