Post-16 Education; your stories (SEND)

Leaving school is a scary time and a big change. For those with SEND, it can be even more daunting and an anxious time for their family too. Young people from specialist educational settings have said that their main worries were around the new environments, new people, and losing specialist care that they may be used to.

Buckinghamshire SEND Post 16 provision aims to maintain this help and support for young people in education as well as aiding more opportunities for employment and independent living. The videos below share the experiences of young people in Bucks who have moved into post 16 education such as college.

A tour by Laura, Caitlin and Michael who are in their first year of entry-level skills for work, and Tyler who is studying Health and Social Care at Aylesbury College.  The students share their feelings and experiences of going to college.
