How to search for childcare
A guide to using this website to find childcare.
From the top green bar select “Directory” followed by “Childcare”. There you can search using the purple search box to the left, or by selecting one of the 8 childcare options located below it.
Once you have clicked search or have selected one of the childcare options you can then narrow your search using the filters that run down the left side of the screen, your search will update automatically each time you select a filtering option. Filtering options include:
- Location (town or postcode)
- Age groups
- Funding and vacancy options
- Preferences for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- School and Pre-school pickups
When viewing your search results you may come across records with a red/pink banner to the right that says “Local Offer”. This banner indicates that a provider/service caters for children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). By clicking the result and scrolling down towards the end of the page you will see an expandable option titled “Local Offer”, here you will find details and responses provided by that provider/service.
When viewing your search results you will find a purple box to the right of each one titled “Add to My Favourites”. Selecting this option will save that particular result in a short list for you to print, save and share. If you click on a result, you will find the “Add to My Favourites” button” on the right hand side of the page.
Your favourites are accessible from any page and are located to the top right of our website.
